Does God Love Women?

This is a painting of Hagar. For those unfamiliar with the story, see below. When she is in the desert, weeping, cast out by a prophet and his wife who took her virginity and coerced her into having a child they eventually rejected, her son placed under a bush so she wouldn't have to watch him die of thirst, God brings her to water. She calls God "Thou God Seest Me" or "the god who sees me." And yet it was the people who worshipped the same God who got her into the position she was in.

I don’t think there are black and white villains and heroes in this story, but there is a lot of hurt, confusion, and heartache. Hence the name of the painting to ponder or open a dialogue. “Does God love women?”
